How To Add An Image To A Post

You just completed a lunch ride and took pictures with the group, you did a tour of the Gila and snapped pics of some spectacular scenery, or you are selling a bike and want to show potential buyers what it looks like. Create a Topic and add pictures to enhance your Post.

You can add up to 6 pictures to your post with a maximum file size of 10MB per picture. However size does matter…if you are able to use pictures with a smaller file size your Post will load faster, and you really don’t want to use pictures that take up the whole screen.

To add a picture to a Post, place your cursor in your text at the location you want the picture to appear. Click on the ‘Insert/Edit Image’ icon in the menu bar at the top of your Post.

That will open the ‘Insert/edit image’ selection screen. Click on the Folder Search icon to the right of the ‘Source’ box and select an image file from your device. As an option you can add an Image Description in that text field and you can change the dimensions of your image as it will display in your Post. Try putting 300 into the first Dimensions box and leave the second box blank. So long as the ‘Constrain proportions’ check box is enabled your image will be scaled to show the correctly scaled height to width proportion as the original image.

NOTE – you can also easily resize the image within your post. Click on your image and each corner of your image will now show a small square box. Cursor over any of those 4 boxes until you see a double headed arrow, click and hold your mouse button and move your mouse pointer to resize the image. Let go of your mouse button when done and view the result.

If you need to delete or edit your image for any reason, click on your image in your post and you’ll see a new menu bar appear above the Insert/edit image pop-up. Cursor over any of those 6 icons and it will tell you what they do.

Finally, remember to press the Submit button at the bottom of your post.
