All About Avatars

An Avatar is the little picture next to your name once you are logged into the LOEBMWR.org website. It is also displayed above your name on the left side of any posts you submit on the forum. In the below example it is the decorative yellow colored square shown next to Forum Admin.

To change your Avatar to something else you want there you will need to go to the LOEBMWR.org Forum page and login to your account. Once logged in, click on your username on the left side of the screen.

That will open your Profile page. Click on the Edit link at the bottom of the list.

Go down the opened page until you see the heading labeled ‘AVATAR’ and then click on the ‘CHOOSE FILE’ button.

Choose an image from your computer. NOTE – square sized images work best. Other shapes will also work but the program will crop them and the image may not be centered. To avoid a cropped image, you can use any photo editing tool like Photoshop or Lightroom and crop the image before uploading it with a square crop tool. When you upload an image, you will be given an opportunity to crop it so that it fits correctly. The ‘default’ crop should work for most square images that you upload.

FINALLY – remember to go to the bottom of the page and click on the ‘UPDATE PROFILE’ button to save your changes.
