Two proposed Bylaw amendments have been put before the LOEBMWR.org board of directors and approved by them for presentation to the membership. The proposals are to add a Lifetime Membership classification for those members who have been members for at least 25 continuous years with Lifetime members no longer being required to pay annual membership dues. At this time we have 14 active members that would qualify as Lifetime Members.
As background information, Lifetime Memberships were initially discussed and approved by those members in attendance at a 2010 Progressive Breakfast meeting, however that change was never added to the Bylaws and those Bylaw changes officially voted on by the membership. The now proposed Bylaw changes have been created to officially accept or reject that membership category of Lifetime Membership which was discussed in 2010.
Article 8 (Amendments) of our Bylaws requires any proposed Bylaw changes to be submitted in writing at least thirty days before a vote for its consideration. It also states the Bylaws may be amended or repealed by a majority vote of all members present and voting at a club meeting. The current copy of our Bylaws can be viewed on our website at

Our next club meeting will take place during the Christmas Party on December 9th, 2023 and we will hold a vote on these proposed amendments at that meeting. These are the two proposed Bylaw changes.
Amendment Proposal #1 adds new Section 3.6 and states:"Members with 25 or more years of continuous membership in the Club are considered Lifetime Members, will no longer be required to pay membership dues, and will be issued a Lifetime Membership card."
Amendment Proposal #2 adds new Section 4.4 and states:"Lifetime Members are not required to pay annual dues and retain the same rights and privileges as a current dues paying club member."
We will also include this information in an upcoming email blast. You are welcome to post your comments to these proposed changes.
