I regret that at this time, I will not be able to go on this ride. As the person who started this thread and who has done the planning, I’m especially disappointed.

Some of you know I have been dealing with some “minor repairs” due to an accident last September and unrelated, elective surgery. While I have been pursuing therapies, they haven’t gone quickly enough for me to complete them before time to depart March 20th.

If you still intend to enjoy this ride, please contact the Highland Inn ASAP before I call to cancel my reservation.

I will post this same message on the LOEBMWR website.

Kind Regards and enjoy the ride if you go.

This whole plan is great! I like to see rides posted by members who get an itch to ride and then open it up to members. We need more of these. Of course some prefer to set up a ride among regular riding partners and not invite the whole club along. Both are good ways to get more riding enjoyment which is the main purpose of this club. These independent rides that are an open invitation will be mentioned in future email blasts. If you don't want an independent ride publicized, don't post it on the forum or our Facebook page. There will be no RSVP for this ride, just contact Dave and let him know you're interested.

Enjoy the ride, it's a good time of year to head south!

Dave, I am planning a ride to Guadalupe Mtn NP in early March and had thought to perhaps ride from there to Big Bend, but no particular target at this point. I may be interested in hooking up with your group at some point along the way

Big Bend National Park Ride

Postby DaveTynan » Thu Jan 12, 2023 7:32 pm

Anyone interested in riding to Big Bend NP this spring?

I posted this on The Club Facebook page a few days ago and we have 6 riders indicating interest- commitment:

Big Bend Riders; I had a very nice chat with Paul Glaves today and have the following info for you per his recommendations:

Dates - March 20 to 23. This is after spring break so everything is less crowded. Annie and I will probably depart Sunday and overnight in Roswell or Las Cruces. I have had surgery on my hand and don’t know if I’ll be capable of 500 mile days.

Lodging- Highland Inn, Alpine, 432.837.5811. Please call directly to reserve, ask for Sam and mention my name. I have asked him to block out 6 rooms. Cost is $65/night.

Bring your US Passport for an adventure across the border for lunch via the park at Boquillas, MX.

Other adventures include the McDonald Observatory, a dinosaur exhibit at Panther Junction, riding the Santa Elena Canyon and Chisos Basin.

Please let me know if you want to meet up in person or zoom or whatever.

Thanks
