Lunch Rendezvous in Chama, June 4th, Noon at the Boxcar Café

Chama ride was WONDERFUL. Weather was perfect (a little warm on the return to ABQ), we took the 'direct' ride to Chama to get there, had a great lunch and then took the route through Taos and the high road for the way home. Lots of greenery on the way to Chama, and even more greenery, curving roads and mountainous terrain on the way home.

Total ride was about 380 miles sandwiched around a nice stop for lunch.

A small group of people are meeting at 8:00 at the Shell station at the 'triangle' on 14 near the road to the crest. It's in the same parking lot area as Lizard Tail Brewery.

Kickstands up at 8:30 and we plan a rest stop on the way to Chama.

Our June 4th Traveling Lunch will be a ride to the well-reviewed Boxcar Café in Chama in Chama, NM - we'll meet there at noon.

UPDATE: Just for fun, the ride up and back could be done in two somewhat different routes: 1) A longer way up US 550 through Cuba then across State Road 96 to US 84, and 2) the more direct route through Santa Fe and Espanola. The longer way takes slightly more than 3 hours according to Google Maps (your time and speed may vary! ). The shorter way about 2 hrs. 40 minutes. If you want to ride up with a group, meet at the south end of the Sandia Casino parking lot around 8:30 am (see posted map and zoom in to the departure point to locate that part of the lot). Then the longer way group could leave about 8:40 am and the quicker route bunch leave at 9:00 am.
