Are you talking about heading west from Villanueva toward Stanley, NM? If yes, there is a way, but it's sketchy and you have to cross private ranch land. Hope you're riding a GS. From Villanueva, head west on County Rd B31A, then connect with County Rd 24C. Now you'll want to get to County Rd 20B, White Lakes Rd. Have several buddies grew up around White Lakes; I've hunted and cut firewood in the area. My brother-in law recently did this trek (in a pickup truck) and commented that it was treacherous. Head west to Stanley, then west on Hwy 474 toward Sandia Park.
Now, if you're talking about heading east out of Villanueva toward Tecolotito, yes, it can be done. You'd better have some detailed topo maps, and a bullet proof vest. I used to buy highly detailed maps in Albq at... for the life of me I cannot remember the name of the business.
edit: It was Holmans, doubt that the store exist today.
