Based in Santa Fe.  Looking for people wanting to ride starting in the Santa Fe area. Typically day rides on predominately pavement, but open to longer rides and dirt.

Because I am relatively new to the area, I have started to create maps to places that I am interested in riding to. Sometimes they take you to places with Ride Challenge sites and sometimes to interesting places.  I will post replies to this thread with new maps as I make them.  For those of you that do not have off road worthy bikes I have tried to check these out as much as I can. I learned the other day that you just can not tell with Google maps if a road that starts out paved ends up as a gravel and rock path after you have been traveling down the road for ten miles.  So, check these out as best you can and apologies in advance if you have to backtrack (like I did on a ride to Las Vegas the other day).  I don’t have built in navigation on my bike so this is my alternative.

I do not know who “dadsterjo,” is, but a good way to get a start is to attend the new weekly Wednesday Muffin Mornings. No RSVP necessary, for the month of May there will be a different location every week. See announcements and events for detils.

I’m heading down to Hatch tomorrow and leaving Albuquerque at 0900 from the Sunport Southbound exit on I-25. You are welcome to join us for about 300 miles with lunch in Hatch, NM, for a Green Chile Cheeseburger.

Have you considered participating in the LOE Rider Challenge, that you have to go all over New Mexico for?

If anyone is interested, I plan to go to the Mormon Battalion Monument on our challenge list.  I won’t leave until about 2:30 though. Coming back, I plan to go through La Cienega and Las Golondrinas.  Fun roads and very nice scenery.

I live just outside Santa Fe and have been looking for people to ride with as well.  I am a pavement person only for now.  Last time I checked there were about 10 people in our area though not all are registered/use this site.

I am going out mid Wednesday afternoon and Saturday afternoon as well.  The first week of May is pretty much out, but after that I am around most of the time and can be pretty flexible.  Lets see if any others want to join in.
