Is this being hashed out by e-mails instead of on the forum?

Big Dogs or Big Pups? January Ride

Postby RJMirabal » Thu Dec 07, 2017 11:45 am

After receiving a number of reactions (see below) to the Big Dog Ride proposal, we're going to try to do it on Monday, January 1st, weather permitting. We'll send out a suggested destination very soon (as Loch suggested, "Go South, young man") If the weather is terrible, we'll make it a "Big Pup Ride" on January 7th as our usual Traveling Breakfast. The ride could be far (for brunch) if the weather is good and warmish--or it could be nearby if it's too dicey to ride. :lol:

Some of the emailed comments:

"If it is not on the FIRST it is not a Big Dog Ride"

"Very few places to eat on the first are open"

"There will be snow and ice on the high roads"

"Will we meet at one place for the ride?"

"You think the dealer might want to get involved"

"If you ride to a casino, they’ll be open and have food. Also just about any truck stop... Flying J, Love’s. Not sure about something like Laguna Burger but they could be called for info."

"I would pick the 1st regardless of the weather! (so says our tough former president, David H)"

(Jon says:) "I like the Casino Idea. If we meet at _ _ _ _ _ _ and ride down to Isleta for lunch buffet, is that enough miles?
How about two route;
125 miles to Mountain Air, to Los Lunas, to Isleta.
35miles. from Smith parking lot to Isleta."

Stayed tuned, Big Dogs! :roll: :wink:
